EIA reports utility averages. Your bills fill in what neighborhoods actually pay. Share the numbers from a recent bill: ZIP code, utility, kWh, and total, and if your bill splits them, the supply charges (the electricity itself) and delivery charges (the wires and grid). No name, email, address, or account number. Each ZIP code's results appear once 10 bills from the past 12 months are in; until then you can see how many are pending.
Inflation adjustment uses the BLS CPI for the utility's Census region, in dollars of September 2026. Full calendar years only. EIA's monthly survey covers about 375 larger utilities; smaller co-ops and municipal utilities report annually and are not shown. In restructured states, the utility's figures cover customers on its default supply.
